SecureNet Voice Over IP

What is SecureNet VoIP?

The Internet has become THE Communication system of the century. Everyday millions of people use the Internet for business, research, entertainment, shopping, education, email and a host of other great reasons.

The Internet allows you to communicate quickly and effortlessly by transmitting data and digital images at lightning speeds. And now, with an innovative new technology known as VoIP, (Voice Over Internet Protocol), you can place telephone calls over the Internet quickly and with exceptional clarity from your existing telephone with SecureNet! You don't even need a computer!

How does SecureNet VoIP work? VoIP is a telephony term used to indicate that voice signals are being sent over the Internet's digital network. When you place a telephone call with SecureNet, your analog voice frequencies are converted into digital signals to travel over the Internet and then converted back into analog frequencies before reaching the destination telephone. Your voice is traveling over the Internet digitally, using the Internet Protocol. Hence the term VoIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol. The method of transporting your voice is completely transparent to you. With SecureNet, you simply make a phone call as you always have. All you need is your phone, SecureNet's fiber Internet service, and a phone adapter (see our How It Works page for more details). This same technology can also be used with a cell phone or a PC. Using SecureNet for telephone calls means saving lots of money!
